Continuous pagination throughout. One folding plate [p. 39] showing the plan of a floor constructed without the use of nails. Original calf boards rebacked with tan leather spine. Six compartment spine with raised bands and gilt lettering. Spine’s leather has suffered from rubbing. Small chip to leather at cover’s top-right edge. Blind stamped pattern on boards partly obscured as a result of rebacking. Library stamp on front endpaper. Hinges reinforced with tape at front and rear endpapers. 2mm hole at title page, partly obscuring the “G” in “Voyage”. Otherwise, contents are in very good condition. Bright, clean and complete. This 1709 edition contains Sorbiere’s “A Voyage to England”, Spratt’s infamous retort in the form of his letter to Christopher Wren, and Sorbiere’s letters concerning the first Anglo-Dutch War (1652-1654). Rare to be found complete in this edition and with its original boards.
