A nicely rebound Baedeker from 1853 about Switzerland (Baedeker official site code is D293a). XL, 374pp, 5 maps, 4 plans, 5th improved edition. It has ‘maps of the Rigi, the Vierwaldstaettersee (Lake Lucerne), Berner Oberland and the Chamonix valley, a view of Rigi and 16 other views’. It only lacks the panorama of Faulhorn and the coloured arms of the cantons before the title page. A very good though rebound copy of a scarce Baedeker guide.
