Fine binding in half green leather, spine divided into five compartments with gilt lettering and decoration, volume numbered XIII in Roman numerals on the spine (numbered according to its position in Jardine’s ‘Mammalia’ series as opposed to the Naturalist’s Library as a whole), spine slightly faded, slight foxing to pages, but the volume is otherwise in very good condition. Marbled paper on boards and end papers. Complete with illustrations: 31 hand-coloured plates, 1 b/w vignette title page, 1 b/w frontispiece portrait (of Dru Drury). The lettering on the spine reads: ‘Naturalist’s Library: Mammalia: Vol. [number in Roman numerals]’.
